With a better production and more variations in the song structures than on their previous works, TSJUDER creates here an uncompromising milestone of True Black Metal, to be compared with the early ENSLAVED and IMMORTAL albums, in true spirit of the early 90’s.

“That’s what I call quality without compromise !” – Metal Hammer DE

2005-01-02Tsjuder ? Desert Northern Hell
Pure blackened hatred emanates from each note of Tsjuder?s latest collection of adversarial anthems. On ?Desert Northern Hell?, you?ll find the band piously adhering to a traditional Norwegian Black metal sound. These blight filled bellows and bursts of malediction are fabricated with utter sonic genocide in mind, comparable to the earlier works of the greatly respected Immortal. Fronted by the diabolical mastermind Nag, whose raven edged bass lines hail with roars of the underworld, Tsjuder destroy the flock with ?Lord of Swords?. For those who desire pure and true black metal that stays to the core of its roots in great artists like Venom, Bathory and Enslaved, you will find that which you are seeking. ?Unholy Paragon? seethes with acrid vehemence; its refrains forged in the fires of hell and made aural reality on this Earth. A significant factor in maintaining a true black metal mix is the attention given to the amount of reverb placed upon the vocals, and on this production, the group have done a masterful job at making the darkened growls of Nag seem vast yet comprehendible. ?Ghoul? brings forth sonic Ordo Ab Chao, as guitarist Draugluin expertly annihilating the senses with a profuse picking style and an emphasis on alacrity. Blazing accuracy can be found in the blasting Armageddon of Anti-Christian?s drums. During times when the band slow the pace in order to emphasize the dynamic structure of a piece, their sound maintains it?s diabolical nature, as opposed to the many acts of this genre who are softening their approach and compromising their principles in order to generate album sales. True fans of these types of artists will find sanctuary in the music of Tsjuder, as the band successfully maintains their integrity throughout the entire album. ?Desert Northern Hell? is one of the best examples of pure black metal in 2004. Rating: 9/10
