I realize that clear won't sounds as good, plus with there only being 500 copies I'm pretty sure i'll never play it. That's why I ordered both the clear and the black...

there is an agent in the black vinyl that makes it smoother and quieter. colored vinyl (other than black) can be noisier because it doesn't have this agent in it. plus 180g are heavier, therefore sound better.

Black 180gr. vinyl is by far the best edition available, if best for you is your listening experience. I have plenty of vinyls and transparent ones are just for fans who want to support the band and want to have an exclusive item (the sound is much cheaper). If you're looking for sound quality, your choice is definitely the 180gr. If you're looking to tell your friends that you have a limited edition, then take the transparent one.

This seems like a reasonable price for a limited to 500 LP. Also, there's a regular black vinyl for $20. Is that really expensive for a record?

glen, relax. DEP always does this. They release a very limited, rare version (in this case 500 copies) of an LP. it sells out and then they get a huge pressing of cheaper, lower quality vinyl with no extras. Wait a bit an you'll get a cheaper, regular version, Or buy this one and have it be worth $100 on ebay within a couple months.

this is the most outrageous price i have seen for a single lp album, you fucks are gouging the fans. i work for a record label and i know the costs that go into producing lps. there is no need for this. you guys are as bad as relapse and their price gouging vinyl scheme.
